From Southern California, where he grew up, to Maui Hawaii where he has resided since 1977, Albert’s pursuit of happiness through artistic freedom of expression and creativity has never wavered. His first introduction to ceramic occurred in grade school at the age of nine, and since then he has ventured into various art mediums (oil, acrylic, pen & ink, etc.), however his first love has always been ceramics.
After he acquired his art education at Los Angeles Pierce Jr. College he moved to Maui. After a long absence from the arts, he began taking ceramic classes at Maui Community College, and Hui No’ Eau Visual Art Center in 1999. He excelled in both unique and original designs, as well as astonishing glass like glazes that have been compared to blow glass designs quality.
His artistic goal is to create designs that reflects the beauty and simplicity of Hawaii; allowing the earth tone glazes to create one of kind ceramic master pieces. Existing types of ceramics consist of platters; bowls, plaques, above counter bathroom sinks, tiles, kitchen back-splashes, all of the above comes in relief designs of turtles, palm trees, pineapples, bamboos, whales, and dolphins. These ceramics are functional and now-functional, as well as food safe.

His work is represented in many galleries on Maui, and has collectors locally, as well as worldwide. As a reminder, Albert will do custom commission pieces to accommodate innovative interior designs for new and older homes. Your art consultant will be more then happy to assist you on acquiring your commission pieces or contact Albert directly.
