Ceramic Designs

My artistic goal is to create designs that reflect the beauty and simplicity of Maui, allowing the earth tone glazes to create one of kind ceramic master pieces.

Ceramic Designs by Albert was started by ceramist Albert Molina in 2004 to distribute his work. Although it is based in Wailuku, HI on the island of Maui, his works are represented in galleries all over the Hawai`ian islands.

These days, Albert can be found selling his work on saturdays and sundays in the historic Banyon Tree park in Lahaina. On other days, he is hard at work in his studio working with his apprentices or designing new pieces. Currently, he is working on a line of fountains.

Albert's Bio

Albert Molina grew up in southern California and moved to Maui in 1977. His first introduction to ceramics occured in grade school at the age of eight and since then, he has ventured into various other mediums such as oil, acrylic and pen. However his first love has always been ceramics.

After he aquired his art education at Los Angeles Pierce Jr. College, he moved to Maui. Following a long absence from the arts, he began taking ceramic classes at Maui Community College and Hui No' Eau Visual Art Center in 1999. He excelled in unique and original designs as well as astonishing glass like glazes that have been compared to blown glass because of the quality and intensity of color and sheen. Realizing that he wanted to make his living in ceramics, he started Ceramic Designs by Albert in 2004.
